✯✰ Narcifer might be extraordinarily attractive, but he is a venomous Jelvia—a species that detest the human race. ✯✰ 💋 Holding out for a Hero #1 🔥 #over18 #bookworm #inlust #fatedmates #Read4Fun #TBRList

Primal. Savage. Untamed.

An alternate Earth where humans live alongside another species.

When she was twelve years old, her mother was murdered—and ever since Macy Shaw had been subconsciously searching for a hero to protect the defenceless.
But the hero she found was a Jelvia—a species deadly to humans.
When her friend was rescued by a Jelvia, Macy used her connections as a journalist to go after the biggest story of her life.
Narcifer saved a woman by merely being Jelvian—his presence striking terror in the hearts of the men who were attacking her.
So when a red-headed reporter not only began asking questions about his ‘heroism’ but brazenly offered her business card, his interest was piqued.
Narcifer was tracking a scientist who had been imprisoning and conducting experiments on Jelvias—but no matter where Narcifer’s line of investigation took him, he was always brought back to the red-headed journalist, Macy Shaw.
Was she involved? If so, she was guaranteed to die.
His orders were to track Macy.
But he went one step further.
Overall backstory of the Jelvia: Not Human series, which will be told in time through the books:

Imagine a world where humans aren’t the supreme being. But it’s still the 21st century. We still go out to work, enjoy vacations and watch Netflix on the TV.

But in this world, living alongside us is a species called Jelvia. They are stronger, bigger, venomous—in short, superhuman. But they cannot be called ‘human’, nor do they want to do. They regard themselves as superior to us.

Jelvians are predators—and humans are their prey, but as our population declines, they realise we need to be rationed. To accomplish this, they kill our criminals instead.

They are judge, jury and executioner—but never believe they are vigilantes, killing the bad.

They are more than that.

Much more.

Jelvias have been grooming us to live our lives in ignorance of their existence.  No one knows for certain how the Jelvias came to be. No one can remember a time when the Jelvia didn’t exist, but no one knows anything about their evolution.

People who question the timeline of the Jelvia, die.

People who ask questions about the Jelvia, die.

This is Book 1 of the Jelvia: Not Human series. All books are standalone but are connected by common characters and theme.

This is a contemporary sci-fi with romance and intrigue. No cliff-hanger. No cheating. HEA at the end of each book. Contains mature themes including explicit language, violence, and descriptive sex scenes. 18+

There were so many stories about the Jelvia: their impossible strength and speed, their intentions toward humans… their venom.
The stories thrilled Macy Shaw.
The Jelvia was a hero she’d yet to meet...

Holding out for a Hero
by

T. E Kessler

Jelvias have lived alongside humans since time began—or that’s what mankind once thought. Now they are waking up to the invisible technology that had fogged their brains.

Beasts. Devil spawn. Aliens. Venomous… are the words used to describe Jelvias. They execute criminals and judge beyond redemption.

Macy Shaw wants to prove there's more to Jelvias than violent murderers but no one will listen to a small-time celebrity reporter such as her—then she catches the eye of her boss and he gives her the job of a lifetime:

Narcifer, the Jelvian Lothario, woo him, seduce him, get a story.

Macy will do anything to get that story...even if it risks losing her life.

She didn't bank on losing her heart.

Contains adult material.

Over 18 only.

Excerpt from Chapter Thirty

He undid another button until her cleavage was exposed. He bent and kissed the mound of one breast as it bulged from the lace of her bra. He tucked a finger into her bra and brushed a hardening nipple.

Macy sighed and closed her eyes. His lips followed his finger, trailing a fiery path across her breasts. A shiver danced along her skin, making her gasp and producing a chuckle from him. Narcifer lowered the lace and exposed the nipple to the air, then he bent his head and took the puckered nipple in his mouth and sucked. Macy clutched his shoulders as he greedily took from her. Then he drew back and kissed the hollow of her throat again before claiming her mouth.

His hand found the top of her thigh again, and she parted her legs for him.

‘Open your eyes,’ he said.

Macy opened her eyes, to find him looking at her. His breath was ragged, and his all-black eyes sparkled with desire.

‘There’s no room here for me, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out.’

His fingers had slipped inside her knickers as he spoke, and a finger parted her folds.

‘We never did find the rope shop,’ he said softly, and Macy looked up at him uncomprehending for a moment, then she smiled.

‘What do you want with rope? I’m already willing,’ she said.

‘It’s erotic,’ he said. His voice was low; almost a whisper. ‘You’ve so much to learn, my little human.’ He stroked his fingers up her pussy lips, sending sparks to her clit, and she moaned for him. ‘With you all tied up, I will hold all the power. You’ll be at my mercy to do to you as I like. The ropes will allow you to surrender to me. Surrender utterly and completely.’

His words excited her, and she almost came from them alone.

He slipped his fingers inside her and watched her intently as he finger-fucked her, the heel of his hand pressed against her clit.

She closed her eyes on a moan. ‘Oh, I’m going to… going to…’

‘Open those eyes,’ he said.

‘I… can’t…’ she said.

He pushed his fingers deep, curled them inside her and her eyes shot open on a gasp.

His all-black eyes stared down at her, and she saw the lust.

The want.

He wants you, Macy Shaw, and oh God, he has you.
