It's interesting how people see Year Zero - I think we are a little bit difficult to put in boxes, whcih is why we started out (we quite like the not boxes we don't quite fit in), but that doesn't mean we're all the unreadable equivalent of Duchamp or John Cage. In Cody's case, she was pursued quite vigorously by a regular publishing house before coming to us, and her writing is about as readable as it gets.

Do let me know what you think would be appropriate - I'd love to attract submissions, especially for the gallery exhibitions, and I have just had it confirmed that eight cuts gallery has a once a month literary night at an Oxford gallery and I'd love people to come forward to read.Dan Hollowayhttp://eightcuts.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420136041899384436.post-23011063550961822962010-09-22T07:50:51.501+01:002010-09-22T07:50:51.501+01:00I was put off immediately for the gratuitous swear...I was put off immediately for the gratuitous swearing. Sadly, the "reclusive" bit means he has a panic attack at the mention of an interview, although he has givenme permission to invent a character to answer questions on his behalf.

I can also use this as a very first place to confirm that the amazing Penny Goring will be releasing through us next year. Penny would be the best interviewee imaginable - I interviewed her for my blog once, before i really knew her, and her seemingly random answers spelled out an acrostoc for a cocktail recipe.

At Year Zero there is a whole wealth of the very most exceptional writers (and me) - Marc you know. Larry is the author of the amazing Glimpses of a Floating World. I'm sure you know Heikki. The list is too long, but anyone listed at Year Zero will be amazing. I should also single out Sarah E Melville, author of the modern illuminated manuscript Beautiful Things that Happen to Ugly Peope, because it's one of the most incerdible objects you could imagine.Dan Hollowayhttp://eightcuts.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420136041899384436.post-64493140732544952752010-09-20T22:44:38.876+01:002010-09-20T22:44:38.876+01:00What other gems have you got at eight cuts, Dan?What other gems have you got at eight cuts, Dan?Louise Wisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04585797594757452007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420136041899384436.post-59268903850467067712010-09-20T22:33:15.690+01:002010-09-20T22:33:15.690+01:00Cody's novel Babylon is one of the best books ...Cody's novel Babylon is one of the best books I have read this year.
